Florence Cottages

A little gem, set in Florence, immersed in a luscious green area situated near the Florence golf course “Parco di Firenze”, the river Arno and Cascine Park (the Medici Family’s archaic hunting ground), not far from the historical centre of Florence.

It’s a lovely spot for a relaxing escape surrounded by acres of roses;
perfect to enjoy Florence from a calming, rustic, and homely perspective.

This allows you to experience Florence from a less touristy perspective.

As a side note, the city center isn’t far away and can be easily reached on foot
for about 40 minutes, along the banks of the river Arno.

A bicycle service, like many major cities is offered by the municipality of Florence; it takes approximately 20 minutes.

Taxis, Buses and Tramvia are also quite convenient alternatives to reach the Santa Maria Novella train station.
Fortunately, our location is quite close to the airport, literally only 10 minutes away via car/taxi.

We’d recommend renting a car at the airport, not so much to reach the city center where parking is expensive, but to explore the villages of Tuscany at your own pace.

Our location is for individuals who like having an authentic holiday, and for those that like planning bespoke adventures around Florence and Tuscany.

A bit of background information about the property: my Nonno was the youngest among his 7 brothers, when his father died he only inherited a field and a stable. He tirelessly with my Nonna to accomplish what you can see today; the yellow villa, the beautiful flower garden, etc.

My Nonno loved flowers so much, he was kindhearted and gifted flowers on any given occurrence. His smile always shone bright; he is still well remembered in the local community.

Nowadays, his flowers are still there in the garden, his daughter has curated and pruned it to this day.

Thousands of Roses and a multitude of rare and beautiful Iris flowers are part of this fascinating garden.

Iris flowers are highly important flowers since history for the florentine society as they represent
the symbol of Florence.

Florence has used the white iris as their insignia for centuries. Originally, the emblem was a white iris on a red background and was only changed when the Medici family, the powerful banking family and political dynasty that first consolidated power in the Republic of Florence during the 15th century, came along and reversed the colours, to demonstrate their opulence and power.
